Computerworld has an article about the VMware user groups in planning stages for Australia and New Zealand. The article says "User groups in NSW, Queensland and Victoria are in the planning stage while Perth is having its inaugural meeting on August 31, 2006"
If you have information on any AUNZ user groups then contact me and I will promote the group on the front page of the site to generate more interest for you. This site is not trying to replace the user group facility that vmware offers, it is just another place to promote and discuss the groups and the technologies use in the region. I think of it as a good place to promote the groups until they grow large enough for VMware to facilitate the hosting of them with the normal VMUG system. The VMware user group forum for AUNZ is relatively quiet. While I have not found enough interest to start an official VMware user group by VMware standards, there is enough interest to start an unofficial SA one. The first meeting for this group is also planned to be around the end of August and we currently have at least 4 interested people. There is a post on the forums to this regard and also a post on the AUNZ user group forum on VMware.com. So if you are interested just let me know and I will keep you updated on the progress. Thats unless VMware is happy to relax the requirements for us little groups. As one of our members said in the forums "lets all get together and virtualise" |
