So in case you havent heard the BIG BIG news, Dianne Greene - President and CEO of VMware was let go today. I am sure you have all seen it on the wire, and read the news.... Well without getting too far into it as I am sure others have already done, I did come across an article on theregister that has an interesting take on the situation.... The full text of the article is posted under the read more link as well as some comments of my own.

OH AND DONT FORGET EARLY BIRD ENDS TOMMOROW FOR VMWORLD!

Before posting the detail of theregisters article, I must say that I have had the pleasure of listening to Diane Greene speak on a number of occasions and on a few in a very small audience with the chance to ask some great questions. On every occasion, Diane has been nothing more than excellent in every regard and quite a visionary.

After all, Diane and her husband can be credited with the juggernaut that is VMware and the reinvention and revolution of virtualisation as we know it today. The share price slumped today on the news and in my opinion this was justified. It is a shame on a number of fronts and I am quite annoyed that I wont have the opportunity to hear the passion in Diane's voice at VMworld again this year.

Without any further ado, the copy of the register articles text is below.
