VMware has announced that they will be discontinuing the VCP exam for ESX 2 and VirtualCenter 1 as of the 31st of December 2006. This does not mean that people certified on this will lose the certification. The certification remains valid!
So why should you take the exam ? Well if you have taken the VCP-101V course and have not certified then this is your chance to get certified without spending big bucks on another course. Though I recommend all the VMware courses as they teach you so much! Hands on experience is a must for these exams, and I have some study notes online for this specific exam here. If you want information on how to upgrade your ESX 2 cert to ESX 3 then you can also look at this article here. To register for the exam go to www.pearsonvue.com/vmware and enter the code: VCP-101V. |
