Dear VMware Customer, We are pleased to announce that VMware ESX Server 3.0.0 Patch ESX-2533126 and ESX-2666943 are now available. These patches are a no-cost update for ESX Server Support and Subscription (SnS) contract holders. ESX Server 3.0.0 Patch ESX-2533126 closes the security hole for AMD processors used with ESX 3.0.0, preventing attackers from monitoring the FPU execution path. This patch does not apply to ESX Server versions 3.0.1 and higher. The vulnerability has already been addressed in later versions of ESX Server. By default, the ESX Server host will reboot after the patch is applied. For additional information see KB 2533126. ESX Server 3.0.0 Patch ESX-2666943 addresses the possible errors in the esxupdate query instruction by having esxupdate write to the update list before rebooting. After applying the patch, no error message will be shown during the reboot and esxupdate query shows the correct update information after rebooting. This update does not reboot the ESX Server host. For additional information see KB 2666943. Download The patches can be obtained through the following links http://www.vmware.com/download/vi/ We hope you enjoy this latest update to ESX Server. |
