Serial I/O over Ethernet 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Guys,

As discussed in today's meeting there are several solutions for serial I/O over ip networks.

I mentioned Fenestrae as one provider of such technology, but instead I believe I was thinking about Fenestrae Faxination Server...

The one I should have mentioned was Fabula Tech. I've used their USB Over Network solution successfully in the past.

You might also want to check out this vmtn post of mine from last year too...

Great meeting. Looking forward to the next one...!

Cheers,
Ben

Thanks Ben. I didn't get the name of the product yesterday and just about to ask... Hope Tony will see this as well. I knew he is quite interested in I/O over IP.

Hope more people will come next time

Eddy

No worries Eddy.

I posted a pingback at both the ANZ and Melbourne VMUG forums on VMTN too, so hopefully Tony will see it. Perhaps you could e-mail him to let him know...

Hi,

There is also a company called Quatech http://www.quatech.com/catalog/serial_device_servers.php. They do a product called SDS (Serial Device Servers). I have used one of these things in an POC, and it was easy to setup and worked like a charm...

The Australian resellers for this product are a Victorian _base_d company http://www.ieci.com.au/default.asp...
